UK’s DFID Contribution Allows WFP To Diversify The Tools And Ways Of Ending Hunger In Darfur

First introduced in Darfur in January 2011, WFP’s vouchers programme is now benefitting half a million displaced people in the region.  The programme offers families a wide variety of food items which cater to local taste.  The vouchers also boosts the local economy, helping to stimulate local markets by engaging traders who buy from farmers in Darfur and from other markets across Sudan.
